LEXINGTON More than 800 medical and corporate professionals and special guests celebrated the mission of the American Heart Association (AHA) at the 32nd Annual Central Kentucky Heart Ball. The event was chaired by Dr. Hal and Sarah Skinner and honored Kentucky’s 55th governor, John Y. Brown Jr., who served from 1979 to 1983.
Brown, who underwent triple bypass heart surgery while in office, is an advocate for health and well-being among his fellow Kentuckians. Brown said his son, Lincoln, inspired him to change his lifestyle all those years ago.
All proceeds from the Heart Ball support the AHA, which funds public and professional education, advocacy and scientific research.
